Tuesday

My next idea for a book was a book of stenciled bones, skeletons that will over-lap each other so that you could see through the book and i feel it gives the impression of the layers of finds in archaeology. I plan to have finished this book before college starts again so that i can progress further and do more books and do a maquette of a fold out book that is going to be a big pull out diagram of a skeleton with writing and information.

wednesday

Wednesday morning i finished making the holding box in the book that will hold the fossil. I finished cutting 3/4 of the book out and left the rest to act as a platform for the box. On these pages i left over, i am going to hopefully stick them all together to make the holding box a bit more secure for if pople viewing it want to look through it. Also did some writing over the lettering you will see to tie in with the skeleton and archaelogical information. I also made the fossil out of the left over paper i cut out of the book, which i made into papier mache. At the moment it is a rough shape of what i want it to be but as it was too wet to do much with, i am going to work on the details of it more when it has dried, through painting it and re-defining it with re-moulding.

Tuesday

I did more to my sketchbook book and started to plan a second book that would be a holding box for a fossil. I started to do this by cutting out a square in the pages of the book that wiil hold the fossil in once i have made it. In the sketchbook i practiced doing some writing that would go over the writing already there to make it look like information on the skeletons and archaeology, plus making fake/real fossils that are 'found' in the book.

Monday

Monday morning was spent doing exercises in writing the artists statement that i found helpful. We went through some examples of other artists statements then were put with a partner so that we could interview each other and write each others statements.

i carried on working with the leather bound sketch book that i started at the weekend. I want to also progress these further into at least 6 books to make up a minature library to make into an installation. The current book i am working on at the moment is a book of ideas and planning but i think i will include it with the other books. I experimented with the book and on different techniques of removing the writing on the spine of the book by covering it with masking tape and trying to find the right tone of colour to paint over, also did this without masking tape and a double layer of masking tape.

today i decided that i would start to compile my ideas into a book finally so i decided to do a maquette of maquettes and have my ideas shown practically

thinking about my book/ pamphlet i was think leatherbound books, in the same vein as the origin of species and other old style bound reference books, and scaling down my prints and everything and puting them in these little books to create a little library

ive been writing my covering letters for several possible work placements and am ready to send them when i get the email addresses

these are what ive created today following yesterdays accident, to carry on in the same vien, these are what i could put into a book as pages, also to day i looked through my scans of writings which i will be adding onto the equivilant pages,

tuesday

today i was experimenting with my stencils thinking about creating screens from them, and how i would manage that as they are very intricate, but as i layed it down i put it onto one of my other stencils which was fortuitous as it was really interesting, then i layed doen a stencil that related to the other and created 'a page' i want to take this further and create more 'pages' , bring it to a pamphlet or text book.

very short day but got a chance to upload to upload some of my work onto here, also cut lots of animals parts today so that i can create lots of new interesting animals and links to take forward, also have been considering creating silkscreen prints of my work.
